Los Balcones • Kas


Los Balcones is located just south of Torrevieja and is a popular location for holiday homes and for re-location. The resorts and beaches of the Orihuela Costa are close by and these include - Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Campoamor.

Los Balcones is a great location for golfers as the 3 Orihuela Costa courses are nearby at Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas and La Manga easily reached by car.

It is is ideally located for touring the Southern Costa Blanca and Costa Calida and can be easily accessed from both Alicante airport and Murcia airport, Alicante is about 40 minutes drive away and Murcia 25 minutes drive. The AP-7 motorway has a junction beside Los Balcones and it can also be reached from the N-332 coast road, Torrevieja is just 5 minutes drive away. 
The urbanisation of Los Balcones is a pleasant, mature urbanisation with tree lined roads, it is built on the slopes of the "Saline De Torrevieja". This salt lake is a "Parc Natural", a protected wildlife area. The algae in the water gives the lake a pinkish tinge at certain times of the year.

 

Close to the property you have restaurents,bars and a large supermarket less than 5 minutes walk away and just 10 minutes walk away is the Filton shopping plaza. This has a variety of bars and restaurents with entertainment and also a bank, a Supervalue supermarket and a hardware if your in the mood for some d.i.y. On the corner of the roundabout is a kiosk, selling tobacco, and multi language newspapers. 
What better way to spend a relaxing morning, than strolling to the plaza, buying a newspaper, and chatting over a coffee, in one of the cafes. From the supermarket, choose something for lunch, and stroll back to the apartments, for a refreshing swim.

Torrevieja 
Nestling between two large salt lakes and the Mediterranean, the fishing village of Torrevieja dates from Roman times, however the present town was rebuilt in 1860. The main industries are tourism, salt exports, and fishing . 
Because of its location it has its own micro-climate, considered by the World Health Organisation to be one of the healthiest in the world. 
It has a cosmopolitan flavour that can be seen in the array of shops and services and a walk on the promenade in the evening is not to be missed. Torrevieja has had many awards such as being among the top environmentally minded municipalities in Spain.

 

Surrounds

Orihuela - this is old Spain at its best. Lots of lovely old cathedrals, and palaces to look around.

Elche - is world renowned for having the largest date palm groves outside of Africa. See them at the Municipal Gardens, or the Huerto del Cura.

Wildlife -This low lying area adjoining the sea has many salt lagoons, and marshy wetlands. The conservation area has many "Parc Naturals", where the birdlife is protected. View the flamingos, and experience the peace at La Mata, or El Fondo visitor centres.
